The Word

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible word of God.
By it, God reveals who He is, who we are, and what life is meant to be.
His word is complete and supremely authoritative in all matters.
It is the Holy Spirit that enables a human mind to understand its truths.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21, Matthew 5:18; Matthew 4:1-11; Luke 24:44-45; Ephesians 2:19-22;

The Triune God

We believe God is the Father, the Son, and the Spirit who are One essence existing
eternally in loving relationship with one another.
He is perfect, infinite, eternal, and unchanging.
He is all-powerful, all-knowing, always present, self-sufficient, and sovereign.
He is righteous, holy, just, loving, gracious, merciful, and true.

The Father

We believe the Father is the highest authority.
There is nothing hidden from Him and all things are determined by His will.
He is intentional in all that he does and reveals himself through his works.
In love, he sent the Son to the world.

(Matthew 6:9-10; Matthew 26:39; John 15:17-30; Daniel 4:35; Psalm 33:6-11; Genesis 6:5; Proverbs
14:12; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Proverbs 3:5-6)

The Son

We believe the Son is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He is fully God and fully man; one person with two natures.
He was born of the Spirit by the virgin Mary and grew in favor with God and man.
He lived a sinless life in perfect obedience to the Father’s will.
He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, died, and was buried.
He rose bodily from the dead, was seen by his disciples, and ascended into Heaven
where He sits at the right hand of the Father as our advocate.

(John 1:1-2; John 1:14; Colossians 2:9; Luke 2:52; Philippians 2:5-11; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 28:9-
10; John 20:26-29; 1 Corinthians 15:6-7; Acts 1:3-8; Romans 8:31-34; Hebrews 9:24)

Jesus is our Prophet, Priest, and King.

As our Prophet, he is the Truth and Word from God who calls sinners to repentance,
proclaims forgiveness and reconciliation, and announces the coming day of judgment.
(Deuteronomy 18:15; John 1:1-4; John 14:6; John 20:30-31; Matthew 17:3-5; Mark 1:14-15; Luke 24:46-
47; Matthew 25:32-33; Hebrews 1:1-2)

As our Priest, he satisfied the wrath of God against us by offering himself as the
complete and final payment for our sin. Through his death and victory over sin, He
brings us into relationship with God by giving us his own righteousness, sending the
Spirit dwell within us, and interceding with God on our behalf if we sin.
(Hebrews 5:1-7; John 3:35-36; John 3:16-19; Hebrews 9:11-12; Hebrews 9:22-26; 2 Corinthians 5:21;

Hebrews 4:14-16)

As our King, he defeated sin and death and stripped his enemies of power. He is at the
right hand of God reigning over his kingdom and ruling his church. One day he will
return in power and glory to bring judgment and reward.

Revelation 1:7; 1 Timothy 6:13-15)

The Spirit

We believe the Spirit is the third person of the Triune God who is sent by the Father and
the Son to convict the world of sin and to turn hearts toward God.
He gives new life to all who believe, adopting them as children of God, sealing them for
eternity, and establishing them as co-heirs with Christ.
As the Helper, he lives within the believer, empowering them to grow, strengthening
them to deny their flesh, equipping them for service, and guiding them into all truth.

More on our beliefs

Mankind
We believe mankind is created in the image of God to reflect His glory.
As male and female, God commands them to take care of the earth and to populate it
through the union of marriage.
Because of inherited and committed sin they are spiritually dead, disobeying God and
failing to accurately reflect His image.
In rebellion, they have hard hearts, debased minds, and seared consciences; they are
utterly sinful.

Through salvation they are enabled to steward God’s creation, multiply spiritually, and
grow in their reflection of God’s image.
(Genesis 1:26-31; Genesis 2:7; John 4:24; Galatians 5:22-25; Genesis 2:24-25; Ephesians 5:25;
Ephesians 5:33; 1 Corinthians 7:3-5; 1 Peter 3:7; Ephesians 5:28; Colossians 3:19; Ephesians 5:22-24;

Corinthians 4:1-2; 1 Peter 4:10; Matthew 28:18-20; Colossians 3:10-11)

Salvation
We believe salvation is an act of God whereby man is redeemed from sin and death
and is brought by grace into a state of righteousness and life.
According to His will, God elects, calls, regenerates, justifies, adopts, sanctifies, and
ultimately glorifies.
Through the work of Christ and the regeneration of the Spirit, man believes, repents,
confesses, and is saved.
(John 3:1-21; John 6:37; John 17:11-15; John 10:25-27; Ephesians 2:1-10; John 5:24; Romans 5:8-10;

3:3-14; Titus 3:5; Ezekiel 36:26; 1 Peter 1:23)

Church Identity
We believe the church is made of those redeemed by God who are called to live
according to his purpose.
They are the body and bride of Christ, his people, united in the Spirit, led by Jesus, and
welcomed into the Father’s presence.
As members of his body, they are filled and commissioned by God as ambassadors of
Christ to the world.
As his bride, they worship Him in spirit and truth in response to His love.
(1 Peter 2:9-10; Ephesians 2:1-6; 1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 1 John 2:1; Ephesians 5:25-27;
Revelation 19:6-9; Ephesians 4:4; John 17:20-23; 1 Peter 1:8; John 17:26; 1 Peter 2:9; Matthew 28:18-
20; Acts 1:8; John 17:9-10)

Church Practice
We believe Jesus has instructed his church and equipped them to help people know
God, honor Him, and proclaim His name.
As the church we remember and participate in the death and resurrection of Christ
through baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
We obey the command to gather with other believers by committing ourselves to a local
church.
We submit to the elders and deacons of the church who are appointed by Christ and
affirmed by the body.
As a family, we use our gifts to help each other grow and to accomplish the work of the
kingdom.
We maintain the holiness of the church by rejecting sin, holding each other accountable
with grace and mercy, and encouraging one another to godliness.

11; Matthew 16:13-26; Romans 15:1-7)

Jesus’ Return
We believe Jesus will return in power and glory to reign.
It has been declared in scripture that no man knows the hour of his return, only the
Father.
On that day, Jesus will gather his people to himself and they will be changed.
He will crush his enemies and the order of creation will be destroyed in fire.
At that time, all will be raised to be judged according to the book of life:
those who have not trusted in Jesus for salvation face eternal punishment.
those who persevere in Christ will dwell eternally with him in the new heaven and the
new earth.
All people are to live in light of his coming.
